All Photographs are Lies

These images are heavily cropped, not to obscure what happened, but to make visible the instability of photographic truth. Everything within the frame existed in front of the camera, yet meaning shifts as context is removed and the boundaries of the image change. Photography is always an act of selection: the camera we use, where we position ourselves, what we choose to photograph, and ultimately what we allow to remain inside the frame. Cropping makes that process of curation explicit. The photograph may function as evidence, but it is never neutral; it is always shaped by the decisions of the person making it.
